The component is written in pure 32-bit Delphi, and uses a combination of Device Independent Bitmaps (DIBs), ImageLists and multi-threading for optimal performance. As far as possible, the functionality of AAPLAY.DLL has been replicated in the new component. The latest version of the player supports both pre-rendering of animations and transparent blitting to the screen.
