The reason for this is how many times has a project leader / manager said "Right we are going live with this exe, so we need to update the live database to reflect the changes in the development database". Of course as good developers we should make a note of all the changes that we make to the database? but just in case we have not noted down all the changes DB Compare will help you find all the difference between the live and development database. What can DB Compare tell you :

Stored Procedures
- Missing procedures.
- Changes in procedure parameters.
Tables
- Missing tables.
Fields
- Changes in the field structure.
Rows
- Missing rows
- Changes in rows
