The major feature of DbTools is to provide a mechanism to update newer versions of database structures (fields, indexes, ref.int.'s) without compromising the customer's data and without the need to make a converter executable for each new version of database applications. It also helps to avoid data missing and corruption with powerful local and disk backups (multiple volumes and compression with ZIP format). The database applications can reindex and pack tables, too. There is a component called TPaxDbTools that works with Delphi 3 and C Builder 3 for providing access to DbTools application from any database application as DbTools were just a component inside it. Another component is also included, TPaxExceptionGuard allows database applications to track database problems and corruptions at runtime and automatically execute DbTools to repair and to let application running again.
