personnel playing the pool to help share the blame when this little operation
gets busted.

-
If you go on vacation or will be out of the office, remember to make your
picks in advance for the next week. Simply select the "Make/View Your
Picks" button, and then change the value for "Week to Enter Picks for" at
the bottom of the screen and press "Refresh". Then you can make your
picks and save them (although you won't have the spreads to go by).

pot) for Week #1.
-
Please come by & pay me if you haven't already. Remember, for Week
1 there will be no penalties because I was out of town Thur & Fri, and
you can still sign up for the season to lock in those low-low prices!
-
Sep 2, Wednesday - Thanks to Adam Campbell for paying for the
season up front.
-
Sep 1, Tuesday - Thanks to Eric Burgess, Scott Huber, Amit
Singh, & Greg Weigand for paying for the season up front.
-
Aug 31, Monday - I will be out of the office on September
3 & 4 (Thur & Fri). Don't worry - there will be no late penalties
for paying late, and you can still sign up for the season next week. Of
course you can still drop off the money on my desk if you want.
-
Aug 28, Friday - I uploaded the new schedule into the pool
database. The pool website is now up and running, so you can make your
picks.
-
The user database has been reset, so everyone has to log on as a new user
for the 1998 season.
-
I modified the rules for payment to encourage people to pay for the season
up front. You now save $0.50 per week if you pay for the season in
advance (an $8.50 savings!). All of the "extra" money goes into the
overall pot, which was $160 for last season. An even bigger reason
to pay for the whole season! You can pay by check if you like - make
it out to "Ben Ziegler".
-
If you are wondering how you actually play the pool, you need to click on
the link above that says "Click Here..". You can log in as "guest"
if you just want to look around.

Football Pool Rules:
-
Payment options are now as follows:
-
$2.00 / week if you pay for the entire season ($34)
-
$2.50 if you pay on or before Friday
-
$2.75 if you pay on or after Monday of the next week
-
These penalties are designed to encourage everyone to play for the entire
season, and to pay on time.
-
Winners are straight up. Spread is for informational purposes only. Tie breaker
is by total points for Monday Night's Game, closest wins. If there is a tie
then winners split the pot.
-
$5 from each week is placed into the overall pool. The overall winner is
determined by the highest picking percentage. Everyone gets to drop their
3 lowest weeks. If you don't play for a week it counts as a drop.
Some tips for using the pool:
-
Don't press the back button once you have entered the pool session. The program
holds state information, and expects you to be at the right screen when data
is resent to the program.
-
You will be logged out if you dont press any buttons for 10 minutes.
-
Please log off properly (by pressing the "Log Off" button) once you have
logged in.
-
The web server is only running when I am logged in at my machine. If
you get no response in the morning it may mean that I haven't logged in yet.
-
The pool database runs best under MS Internet Explorer 4.0. Under Netscape
some of the buttons may not show up properly.
