This document specifies the structure of executable (image) files and object files under the Microsoft® Windows NT® operating system. These files are referred to as Portable Executable (PE) and Common Object File Format (COFF) files respectively. The name "Portable Executable" refers to the fact that the format is not architecture-specific. Please read the license agreement before continuing. Under the Hood article in March1999 MSJ, by Matt Pietrik, demonstrates how to generate .DBG files. The official MS specs for PE/COFF are also available, but make heavy reading. MemProof is a superb resource checking tool for C Builder and Delphi. It monitors windows resources as well as just memory and looks extremely capable.
